Il Mulino di Camporata was commissioned to be built in the year 1100 AD by the Lord of Badiacoltibuono through the city of Florence. It was an active grain mill, using a river that still flows beneath the main house, making flour for bread and pasta until the 1970’s.
For hundreds of years, Pilgrims camped along the river that runs alongside the property on their way to Rome.
Today, the local people from the village stop to pray to the Madonna in front of Il Mulinio's gate or to sit along its' wall and visit.
The main house is a picturesque cottage with charming gardens and pool. The two apartments that join the main house are beautifully furnished with quilts made by the owner along with many other personal touches.
